Paletten Sehpa / Table From Pallets

Geçen ilkbahar komşumuz bahçesinin taşlarını değiştirdi. Koca taşları paletlerle taşıdılar sonra ben o paletleri atılacaklarla kenara koyulmuş görünce hemen harekete geçtim ve komşudan paletleri istedim. Sevgili eşime parlak fikrimden bahsettim ve marangozluk yapacağı için o da pek bir sevindi, neyse 3 gün önce işe koyulduk.

A few months ago I saw these pallets at our neighbour's garden gate. Probably they would throw them away. We asked them if we could have the pallets and their answer was yes! yay!!
I had a bright idea about these pallets, I told hubby about it and he loved the idea too. 3 days ago we started.

5 adet paletten en iyi durumda olan ikisini seçtik. Bu ikisi üstüste gelerek sehpayı oluşturacak ana parçalardı. Paletler iyi kalitede değillerdi maalesef ama ne yapalım elimizdeki malzeme buydu.

We had 5 pallets. We chose two of them (The best ones). These two would be our table.

Masanın üste gelecek olan kısmını fazla aralıklı bulunca diğer paletlerin tahtalarından söküp aralara ekleme yaptık ama bu sökme işlemi hiç de kolay değildi. Neyse sonunda başardık (dık dediğime bakmayın buraya kadar sadece lojistik destek oldum işin çoğunu gonca yaptı ama şikayeti yoktu.)

We decided not to have gaps between the boards on the surface of the table. So hubby disassembled the other pallets. This was not the easiest part!

Araları doldurunca sehpanın ana hatları ortaya çıktı. Tabi bu arada zımparaladık da zımparaladık. Zımpara makinası dayanamadı bozuldu ama biz durmadık hababam zımparaladık. Bu da bu işin hoş olmayan ama olmazsa olmaz tarafı.

And this was how it looked. Also sanding the wood was not the most joyful part of it ! But it had to be done!
